if you feel like seriously hurting yourself, consider instead:

  • brushing your teeth with mint toothpaste so your whole mouth burns up
  • similarly, eating something so spicy that your mouth turns into an inferno
  • putting some ice cubes down your shirt and feeling your stomach burn from the cold
  • spinning around in a circle until you feel so dizzy you gotta lay down for a while
  • taking a ballpoint pen and drawing a spiral on your leg and having it fill up your whole leg
  • flapping your hands like you’re trying to achieve flight all by yourself
  • getting out a piece of plain lined paper and making a list of a bunch of things you like, and then going over them in your mind and thinking about all the mini reasons why you like them
  • drink some super duper cold water like SO cold as cold as you can possibly get it without it being straight up ice
  • you don’t deserve to get hurt, if you need to feel something to distract yourself from other pain there’s a lot of other things you could do that won’t leave scars, both physical and emotional
  • reach out to a friend or family member who you can talk to either about how you feel or about something else just to fill your mind with other thoughts
  • please take care of yourself!!
