trans hellenic polytheists, hey, i have a not-so-secret secret for you: dionysus loves you.
even if you dont have a close relationship with the lord and lady of the vine, even if the most you know of dionysus can be summed up in a description along the lines of “that weirdo that dances in the woods”, know now, at least, that you are loved by them.
dionysus, who runs with wild cats and drinks just enough and invites mortals and immortals alike to lose their inhibitions to the ecstasy of life and living – dionysus, who was raised as a girl but heard whispers, perhaps, growing up (“the poor little boy”, “the son of zeus”) – dionysus, who was lost, too, and confined in the fear that there wasnt any way to belong as they were – dionysus, the god of wine and ecstasy, the great twice-born liberator loves you.
it perhaps isnt always a common belief, but in my eyes and the eyes of many, many others, dionysus is our patron. if you are trans, or nonbinary, or agender, or genderfluid, or genderqueer, or intersex, or simply not cis, then through this you share a piece of yourself with divinity. and dionysus shares that piece with you.
Dionysus, keeper of my queer heart.
