Normally I’d agree with calling pedo apologist movie directors stupid but I can’t say the same for
Luca Guadagnino. He’s a manipulator who knwos exactly what he’s doing and what he wants out of this movie. He revealed not too long ago that he’s fascinated by pedophilic dynamics. The whole purpose of this movie is to normalized adult men preying on teenage boys. He said that himself. Luca may as well be an actual pedophile himself since he’s so “fascinated” by this abusive dynamic.
Luca is also supporting the idea of Armie Hammer and Timothee Chalamet seeing each other romantically off set. Another huge red flag.

Yeah fuck this film, it’s not progressive or beautiful. It’s predatory. To young gay kids it makes it seem romantic to date older people and to homophobes it reinforces the idea that gay people are pedophiles. I would NEVER date a 17 year old, the thought is gross to me. There’s nothing attractive to me about a child. The fact that it’s unquestioned in this story is disturbing.
Unless it’s a commentary on the issues/dangers of age gaps in relationships, it’s uh Never okay to have a character <18 date a character that’s 20+ and I’m really sick of YA authors acting like it is

No really, please reblog this if you can, because this site in general, but fandom spaces especially bad for this, to the point where people are genuinely afraid of harassment they may face for saying ‘Pedophilia is a bad thing and you probably should not encourage it’ or for calling it what it is. Fandom spaces are also especially bad for screaming about how it’s ‘just fiction’ when we know damn well that fiction impacts reality.
Pedophiles don’t deserve to feel safe. You know who deserves to feel safe? Children. And children can’t feel safe in a world where pedophilia is accepted, normalized and seen as something positive.
