The Bonnethead shark (Sphyrna tiburo), is a species of hammerhead that is abundant in critical seagrass habitats.
Recent research on the stomach and digestive physiology of these sharks have shown that they consume lots of seagrass (up to 62.1% of gut content mass) and have specialised enzymes for digesting plant material (cellulose).
Please be kind to sharks. Learn about them, admire them. They are so important for the ocean and I promise they do not purposely hurt humans. We kill way more sharks than they kill us and that’s not okay.
Please be mindful of consuming media that demonizes sharks. Every time a horror movie with a shark in it comes out it creates a hysteria around these magnificent beings and they end up being killed at a much higher rate.

Most of our perception of what Goblin sharks looks like comes from dead specimines where they are all mangled and shrivelled, and are always positioned with their jaws protruding out.
